Frequently Asked Questions

TidewiseLife is for professionals at any stage who sense that something needs to shift — but aren't quite sure what, or how. You might be a researcher weighing a career pivot, a leader navigating burnout, or someone in the middle of a life transition who needs more than generic career advice. What our clients share is a willingness to look honestly at the life they're living and ask whether it's the one they actually want.
If you're looking for a quick fix or a prescriptive roadmap, we're probably not the right fit. If you're ready to do real work, we are.

Most career guidance starts with the job. We start with the life. Before we talk about roles, sectors, or salaries, we ask: what kind of life do you want to live? Everything else — career direction, professional identity, next steps — follows from that. It's a slower, more honest process, and in our experience, a far more useful one.

Every package includes four sessions per month, held online. Between sessions, you have access to WhatsApp support — so you're not left sitting with a difficult question until our next call. We also provide personalized resource recommendations tailored to wherever you are in your process. You commit to one month at a time, which keeps things focused and intentional.
The four packages differ in focus and depth — from career exploration to life design to navigating transitions and burnout. You can find full descriptions on our Offerings page.

We'll figure that out together. Before you commit to anything, we have an initial conversation (free of charge) to understand what you're carrying and what you need. From there, we'll point you toward the package that fits — or tell you honestly if we think something else would serve you better.
-
Yes. We believe that access to meaningful support shouldn't depend entirely on what's in your bank account.
The Packages “Life Navigator” and “Science Pathfinder” operate on a sliding scale, with a range that reflects different financial circumstances. The packages “Between Tides” and “Safe Harbor" are fixed-rate.
Installment options are available. If you're unsure whether the cost is workable for you, just ask — we'd rather have the conversation than have you rule yourself out before we've even spoken. -
All sessions are held online via video call. This means we can work with you wherever you are in the world, and you don't have to factor in a commute on top of everything else.

We work with clients internationally and are used to navigating this. When we schedule sessions, we'll find a time that works for both sides — not just whatever's convenient for us. We're transparent about availability across time zones from the start, so there are no surprises.
-
Once you're onboarded, scheduling is handled directly between us — no clunky booking systems. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Life happens, and we approach this with flexibility, but consistent last-minute cancellations aren't fair to either of us.
-
This is an important question, and we take it seriously. Mentoring and coaching are not therapy. If at any point it becomes clear that what you need is clinical or psychological support, we'll say so — clearly and without judgment.
-
Yes. What you share in sessions stays between us. We treat confidentiality as a baseline, not a feature — it's simply how this kind of work has to function. If you have specific concerns about data privacy or how information is stored, we're happy to talk through that before you commit to anything.

Reach out. There's no obligation attached to getting in touch — we'd rather you come with questions than sign up uncertain. You can contact us at tideweiselife@gmail.com and we'll take it from there.
